Camping site
Quarry Road, Laxey, Isle of Man, IM4 7DU
There are 8 outside power sockets of the round blue type 16amp on the grass side to the road.
It is ten minutes walk to event hall The Institute.
It has become apparent that in fact they do not accept towable caravans on this site.
John C-S tried and was refused so booking a holiday home instead!
Now looking closely at the wording there is nothing about caravans.
Oh dear – Further research on gov.im shows that caravans are not welcome on IOM without a permit from 02 April 2015!

Campsite - No Wifi Internet!
The Laxey camp site is basic. Enough to wash, clean and cook. That's okay. No wifi.
There is no wifi link path for 2GHz or 5GHz to event hall of the Institute. Equally there was no path from the organisers chosen high up rented cottage Cronk Aash on Baldhoon Road. We checked in May 2014. Laxey is full of many trees and The Institute building is low down. We could not see, even with binoculars, LBW large letters in windows in the Cronk Aash rented cottage either from the camp site.
You are recommended to buy a Manx Telecom or Sure telecom SIM at these retail shops in Douglas.
See section Data and Voice SIM cards, where to buy.
David C. tested the Manx £5 SIM 3G data on 18 May 2015 driving around Laxey. It definitely works in the campsite. The telecom stuff is bolted onto the TV tranmitter mast you can easily see.
Those camping and caravaning could join together to get one SIM card and share a "mi-fi" on site?
The Manx telecom SIM is £5 for 15 days and 100Mb data. It should last the eight days of the event on a share if you use if for the LBW registration and text emails!
